The independent administration of justice is a fundamental foundation for a free and democratic civil society. Attorney General William Barr’s appearance before the House of Representatives Judiciary Committee on July 28, 2020 caused me serious concern in that regard.

This commentary is a summary review of some of Barr’s testimony.

Roger Stone: Crime and Politics. Stone was prosecuted because he lied to Congress and threatened a witness in order to cover up to protect President Trump. Trump rewarded Stone for his federal crimes by granting Stone a full commutation of his sentences.

MUELLER’S PUBLIC STATEMENT ON WHETHER TRUMP OBSTRUCTED JUSTICE

Robert Mueller’s public statement on May 29, 2019 explained why he could not address the issue whether Trump committed a crime after he had pointedly said that he was not convinced that Trump did not commit a crime. Mueller also contradicted the misrepresentations and distortions previously made by Attorney General Barr about his report and its findings.

President-Donald Trump and Conrad Black are well acquainted with each other. As a faithful friend, Donald Trump attended the contentious and pivotal 2003 Hollinger shareholders’ meeting at the Metropolitan Club in New York and spoke in support of Conrad Black, while shareholders angrily challenged Hollinger’s underperformance and criticized Black’s related party transactions.
